During a competition between three agencies, Responsive was chosen to create a dialogue with both Danish and international decision makers.
"There are thousands and thousands of scientific congresses every year - and they rotate. We wish to come into contact with Danish universities, hospitals, research centers, and other environments of knowledge", says Steen Jakobsen, the convention director of Wonderful Copenhagen.
The official congress and tourism organization of Copenhagen and the surrounding area recently contacted various DM Agencies, submitting a RFP to each one. That is to say not only a relation creating one, but also a congress generating one.
"It is a niche segment, so we were approached by four agencies of which three were prequalified. It was big and competent agencies who submitted cases, experience, and references. And in this field, we chose Responsive," says Steen Jakobsen.
The task will be divided into two phases;; partly in order to find and establish a dialogue with Danish physicians and scientists - and to make them act as host for a congress, partly to exert an influence on the international decision makers, in order to fertilize the soil when a potential congress host in interested in Copenhagen.
"Preliminary, the project is to last until the end of this year. This is not due to a short planning from our side - on the contrary, the congresses that we are currently working with all take place from 2012 until 2014 - but because they are financed by EU grants that are dependent severe conditions. Further down the road, we shall see if we also can our new bureau in the future. Getting congresses to Copenhagen - included the scientific ones- is a running process," says Steen Jakobsen
